Registering new town and village greens
The Government published a consultation in July 2011
on changing the current arrangements regarding the
registration of new town and village greens. The
consultation period ended in October.

The Horsham Society has successfully helped with the
registration of two new town greens and therefore has
experience of the current legislation and processes.
In our view there are still green spaces within
Horsham and elsewhere which should be registered in
order to protect them from development. We do not
therefore consider that a case has been made to change
the existing arrangements.
