Horsham Rotary Club's
Kenya water project
The Horsham Rotary Club
has just delivered the first part of its water
purification project to the people of Rumuruti in
Kenya (a small town of some 10000 people forced at
present to drink, wash etc from the local river).
Members from Horsham
will be going out to Kenya in February to hand over
the remaining pumps and filters and inspect the
refurbished water mains.
News update 10.03.05
The Kenyan water project is going well with the
pumps and filters now on their way from Mombasa to
Rumuruti. Unfortunately no Horsham Rotary
members could make it out to Kenya at the end of
February, but the Dutch Rotary Club from Keppel (with
whom the Horsham club has close ties) did go out there
to share in the celebration and smooth the equipment's
passage from the docks with the help from East Nairobi
Rotarians. |
