Threat to our swans - October 2007

In the face of enormous public opposition, Swan Walk management removed Lorne McKean's iconic bronze sculpture was removed from the shopping mall on 30 September 2007.  However, following talks between HDC chief executive Tom Crowley and Chris Paterson of Morley Asset Management (for Swan Walk) it has been agreed that  the swans will be reinstated within the centre as part of planned refurbishment work.

The Society has been invited to join a group including Lorne McKean, local councillors, and the owners of Swan Walk to decide how best to reinstate the swans. We welcome this approach and look forward to seeing the swans back in pride of place.

The swans have appeared on BBC's South Today - click here for the video.

Many thanks to Horsham Forum for the photograph
